Welcome to a short explanation of D9RA's version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" Game. Everyone who is at the monthly meeting has a chance to participate with the understanding this is a fun way of learning the rules. The Executive also hopes this will encourage officials to attend and stay to the end of our mandatory meetings.
Now, at the end of each meeting, one game will be played with the lucky player to be drawn from all those in attendance. Thanks to Andy Lacroix of Lacroix Sports in Orleans and Peter Carr of Carr and Company Insurance everyone will receive one ticket. Please consider them when your need sporting goods equipment or you are looking for insurance. You may also purchase additional tickets if you wish to increase your chances of being selected. ($1 each, 3 for $2, 10 for $5). Bring your loonies and toonies or sign off on a payroll deduction sheet.
Each question (taken from the case/rule book) will have 4 answers, of which only 1 will be correct. If you get stuck, you will be allowed 3 "lifelines" (to be called "Ask your Linesman" - someone you choose from the members in attendance who is not a member of the executive, "Ask a Parent" (as they seem to know all the calls anyways) - here you will be able to poll all the members in attendance, by a show of hands, or finally 50/50 which eliminates 2 possible answers. There will be no help allowed by using the case/rule book! The prize you could win is decided by the level you have attained by answering questions correctly. Once you answer incorrectly all prizes are lost unless you have reached levels 5 or 10 where the prize is now guaranteed. You can opt out before a next question winning that prize level or push onwards.
Prizes to be won (in order of correct number of questions answered): laces ($4), visor - fogg free ($9), arm bans ($12), whistle ($15), shin tights ($20), D9RA golf shirt ($30), referee bag ($40), visor ($45), elbow pads ($60), sweater ($60), shin pads ($85), helmet ($100), CCM pro pants ($120), Stevens pro pants ($225), skates from Lacroix Sports ($500 towards your purchase - no cash value).
