Puppet Workshops

Artellephant Puppet Workshops!

Kids, teens and adults of all ages have enjoyed our various puppet workshops, which can be adapted all year round to suit a variety of themes. These fun and creative puppet projects are original creations of Artellephant Productions! We provide two puppeteers as instructors to show the step by step process during the workshop. We also provide all the supplies and materials for each workshop in our pre-made kits. To book a puppet workshop please see the contact information below.

Big Mouth Puppets

Duration: 2 hours

Age: 8 and up

Description: Students will use Bristol board and fabric to create their own talking mouth puppet character. Through the selection of colours, fabric, stencil shapes, and craft accessories students can make their own original creation. A variety of themes are available for the Big Mouth workshop.

Elephant Marionette

Duration: 3 hours

Age: 8 and up

Description: Students will cut out Bristol board shapes to construct these fully jointed marionettes. The marionette control and strings are added allowing students to bring their elephant creations to life!

Dragon Marionette

Duration: 4 hours

Age: 8 and up

Description: Students will cut out Bristol board shapes to construct these fully jointed puppets. The marionette control and strings are added to the Dragon, which also has flapping wings and a working tail!

Jumping Frogs mouth puppets

Duration: 4 hours

Age: 12 and up

Description: This workshop is an excellent introduction to working with sponge as a medium for creating puppets. Students will use sponge shapes, fabric, and cardboard to make their own jumping frog mouth puppet.

Scrunchy Face rod puppets

Duration: 4 hours

Age: 8 and up

Description: Students will use newspaper, tape, coloured tissue paper, and fabric to create their own dramatic rod puppet character.

All About Puppets

Duration: 5 to 45 minutes (adjustable)

Age: 8 and up

Description: Students will learn about the many different types of puppets throughout the world, and have an opportunity to try our hands on puppet display. At the conclusion of the workshop students will create their own craft rod puppet character.

Puffoons rod puppets

Duration: 2 hours

Age: 8 and up

Description: Students will use wooden spoons, fabric, and accessories to create their own rod puppet character. Various themes are available for this workshop.

Popsicle Puppets

Duration: 2 hours

Age: 8 and up

Description: Students will use Bristol board, paper patterns, and popsicle sticks to create their own talking ventriloquist style puppet. Various themes are available for this workshop.

Puffle Bugs glove puppets

Duration: 2 hours

Age: 8 and up

Description: Students will use gloves and fabric to design their own bug puppet character.
